Another Devlog, Another Complete Story Overhaul...

Hey. It's been a while, huh? Over a year since the last devlog, to be exact.

Shortly after I made that last devlog, a lot happened to me IRL, and completely I lost the motivation for this game. I did eventually get back into the groove of creating for it, and I made loads of progress that I'm really proud of, especially some really cool coding! But I've been slowly losing steam for working on it again.

So, I've had to make a decision regarding this visual novel, which hasn't been easy. That decision has been to completely re-create the main playable protagonist from the ground up. And that's hard! Having to completely scrap a character that you've gotten so attached to and have enjoyed creating so much is hard! But sometimes is necessary for what you're creating. It turns out that the original protag, Player, just isn't right anymore for this story or any other stories I might want to tell.

So, give a warm welcome to our newest character...

I'm wanting to include a customization feature, but I don't know how complicated that will actually be, so we'll see!

So, what does this mean for the future of this game?

Well, I'm going to need to re-write a bunch of stuff, re-code a bunch of stuff, re-draw a bunch of stuff... Which will obviously take a while.
I... honestly don't know when this is going to be ready. It could be next year, it could be next decade... I'm still busy with things like college and other projects, but I'll try my best to continue working on this one.
